Welcome to Healthelink

Your health, your information.

Thank you for your interest in NSW Health's electronic health record pilot, Health-e-link.

The pilot program enrolled consumers across Western Sydney and the Hunter and enabled GPs, hospitals and community health services to share valuable health information to improve patient care.

Recently, NSW Health has been selected by the Commonwealth Government as a partner in the new national Personally Controlled Electronic Health Record (PCEHR) program. What we learned through the Health-e-link pilot is now helping us to inform this new national approach for sharing health information between patients, carers and health professionals. We would therefore like to advise you that we will be concluding the Health-e-link pilot in the coming months.

Below are some important dates to be aware of:

  • Consumers who registered with Healthelink for online access to their or their child's record (by submitting the relevant forms with Australia Post) will be able to view or print their record up until Tuesday 30th October 2012.
  • Healthcare providers are able to access Healthelink records up until Friday 31st August 2012.

We understand that you may have some questions relating to the conclusion of the pilot. We have developed this fact sheet which will hopefully answer any questions you may have. If your query is not addressed in this fact sheet, please contact our service centre on
1800 75 22 66 and a member of the project team would be pleased to assist you. Alternatively you can email us at info@healthelink.nsw.gov.au.

HealtheLink: Your questions answered

NSW Health would like to thank all those who participated in the Health-e-link pilot program and encourage you to learn as much as you can about electronic health records, especially as we prepare for the next stage of the new national PCEHR system. The Commonwealth website provides more information and useful links at www.ehealth.gov.au

In the future, you may be asked to register (or 'opt-in') for new online systems operating as part of the PCEHR program and hope that you will join with us again to continue improving healthcare systems across NSW.
