The Healthelink Program

The Healthelink program is currently being run as a pilot. This means that it only operates in certain areas and for certain people.

There are different kinds of health care providers involved in the pilot. These people include family doctors (GPs), public hospital doctors and nurses, and community health professionals.

Only a selected number of health care facilities are involved in the pilot. You can view a list of the hospitals, community health centres and general practices that are participating.

By receiving care from one of the participating facilities you will have a Healthelink record created.

Participation in Healthelink is free and there is no charge to you if you want to access any of your information.

Information held in your Healthelink record

Your Healthelink record contains a summary of information that is normally collected by your health care provider. Only important pieces of information are held in Healthelink to give you and your health care provider a good overview of your health and care.

The information held in Healthelink is a copy of information that already exists. It is not intended to replace other hospital or community systems and it does not replicate all the information held in these systems.

When you are enrolled in Healthelink, your record is blank. Over time information will accumulate to create your medical history.
